Falls from containers or tops of vehicles are significant work at height issues in marine ports which need proper rescue and evacuation facilities.
If fall arrest equipment is being used, choose a method that will minimise the length and consequences of the fall. For example temporary vertical lifelines on ladderways which can be removed when the work has been completed. Retractable fall arrest blocks are not suitable for preventing falls over edges.
