ROTOR MaxLift powered automatic rescue and evacuation descender – constant rate rescue descender with automatic descent speed control for escape, self-evacuation and rescue from tall structures such as wind turbines and tower cranes. Offers enhanced rescue lifting capability when combined with our MaxLift PowerPack driver set.
ROTOR MaxLift is a core component of our RescuePack rescue systems:
For Wind Turbine Rescue:
- RescuePack MaxLift WTG Rescue System – supplied in a barrel for ease of storage.
- RescuePack MaxLift WTG Rescue System ProSeal – supplied in a barrel for ease of storage and transportation with ProSeal 10 yr storage solution.
- RescuePack WTG MaxLift Rescue System (Alu Case) ProSeal – supplied in a sturdy aluminium case with ProSeal 10 yr storage solution
For Tower Crane Rescue:
- RescuePack TC MaxLift Tower Crane Rescue System – for self evacuation or recovery of a casualty from tower cranes.
- RescuePack TC MaxLift Tower Crane Rescue System ProSeal – for self evacuation or recovery of a casualty from tower cranes with ProSeal 10 yr storage solution.
The ROTOR MaxLift is power assisted making it optimised for both rescue and lifting applications, including ‘Rescue Up’. This powered descender excels at long distances and heavy load lifts.
Lifting is achieved with a detachable ratchet handle or cordless driver MaxLift PowerPack unit available separately. Both typically give faster lifting speeds than wheel driven devices and utilise the integrated progress capture ratchet lock.
The ROTOR MaxLift automatically controls the speed of descent. Friction points give additional manual control for lowering a casualty if required.
The cordless driver MaxLift PowerPack is specified and tested for use with the D62 ROTOR MaxLift Powered Automatic Rescue and Evacuation Descender to minimise potential user injury due to torque employed. Not all drivers with nominal torque specification will function safely.
The ROTOR rescue and evacuation descender features integral load indicator shows if the device has been used.
Tested for conformity assessment to lift in dry, wet and cold (-4) conditioning 30kg (min), 140kg (rated), 215kg (overload) and 300kg (max x 8m)
ROTOR MaxLift device can be used in any orientation, and is not limited to passive (attached to anchor point) or active (direct to users harness) modes. No external moving parts when descending, to prevent risk of injury, entrapment or affect descent.
High rated load with long descent distance:
Load Max. descent distance Descent speed
140 kg 4500 m 0.7 m/s
200 kg 500 m 1.0 m/s
250 kg 220 m 1.7 m/s
Maximum rated descent load 250kg, Nominal 140kg
Maximum rated lifting load 300kg, Nominal 140kg
Powered lift capacity per one 5ah battery (MaxLift PowerPack) vs Manual:
Operation Load Max. Lift Distance Lift Speed
Manual 100kg User Dependent 3m/m
Powered 100kg 100 m 6m/m
Powered 140kg 55 m 6m/m
Powered 200kg 36 m 6m/m
Powered 300kg 21 m 6m/m
m = metres
m/s = metres per second
m/m = metres per minute
Rate of lifting manually approx 3m per minute / 100 kg load (0.05m/s). Rate of powered lifting approx 6m per minute / 100 kg load (0.1 metres per second).
Supplied fitted with 9.5 mm rope giving 10:1 safety factor with 250 kg. Maximum rope length 500 m.
The ROTOR constant rate descender is not subject to a specific lifetime, however it must be serviced and replacement rope fitted every 10 years. Full service support available.
