Height Safety & Rescue After A Fall training course for those needing both theoretical and practical skills in the use of a rescue after a fall kit.
This courses provides knowledge required to meet the requirements of working at height and basic fall protection techniques.
This height safety and rescue after a fall training course includes the selection of suitable anchor points, awareness of possible hazards, methods of operation of rope devices and methods of control during lowering or raising of a casualty using the RescuePack system.
The course also covers all aspects of suspension intolerance, including methods of minimising the effect on the casualty and how to handle the casualty when they have been recovered to a safe place.

- Methods of fall protection
- Pre-use checks
- Selection of suitable anchorages
- Fall arrest blocks
- Suspension Intolerance
- Awareness and understanding of RescuePack contents and function
- Abrasion and edge hazards
- Elementary pulley theory
- Medical dangers to suspended persons
- Casualty handling
Practical skills covered in this course include:
- Fitting a fall arrest harness
- Use of anchorage slings and connectors
- Attachment and use of fall arrest lanyards
- Attachment and use of temporary horizontal line and adjustable restraint system
- Attachment to the casualty
- Lowering a casualty
- Raising a casualty
- Recovery of a casualty suspended from a lanyard and fall arrest block.
- Casualty handling
Safety footwear required for all practical sessions.

It is the participants/bookers responsibility to ensure that all relevant pre-requisites are met to attend this course and that the evidence is provided on the first day of the course e.g. in-date certificates for revalidation courses. Failure to meet any of these pre-requisites may result in the participant being asked to leave the course. No refund will be given in this event.

Work at Height First Aid Pack – portable kit for use on high structures. Compliant with BS8599-1:2019. Can be attached to harness for easy transport. Contained in rucksack style case, with prominent reflective markings, zip around opening and a robust carry handle with attachment loop for clipping to a harness.
